Congress tells the Courts what it meant when it passed the Americans With Disability Act.

Yesterday the House of Representatives passed an amended version of the Americans with Disability Act by a vote of 402 to 17. As reported by the Washington Post, many of the representatives were frustrated by the discriminatory provisions of the Act and its interpretation by the Courts. I can only echo those sentiments of frustration. While I believe the ADA is a fine bill to change our architecture, it's interpretation does little to help alleviate discrimination against the less than totally disabled person. Let's hope that the new ADA will pass and be more effective to those who are being discriminated in their workplace.

Originally posted at InjuryBoard by John Inserra
