Unfortunately Texas still has not legalized lane splitting.
A bill was introduced in the state house in 2005, but died in comittee. In 2009 it was re-introduced in the state senate, passed vote and was passed onto the house.
There was a public hearing by the house Public safety comittee on May 18th, but as of today they still have failed to vote on the bill (as of the meeting they stated they would vote the next morning. Two days later, we're still waiting).
Hopefully we'll see some action soon, the state legislative session is quickly drawing to a close.

Texas, I believe, recently legalized lane-splitting. I believe there is another IB post about that. It's interesting to learn that it's also been legalized in California.

Lane sharing should be legalized as it is already in California, Western Europe and most of Asia. It's safer for the rider, reduces congestion and eliminates damage to air-cooled motorcycles (most motorcycles are air cooled).

I have a question, how can you rank a company today off stuff that happened years in the past? i hope all trial lawyers get what they deserve, if people knew what you guys pulled it would make the insurance companies look like saints. So your complaining about companies you don't like to deal with because they know more and have better resources than you guys do? What a bunch of Jerry's kids, go ride the special bus back to law school morons.

Well... I have an Accord and I saw this recall and kind of got scared and called America Honda. I was advised that there is nothing to worry about at this time because they currently have no information regarding this. I am a faithful Honda owner; I have only EVER owned Hondas. I so totally and completely believe Honda because I thought it was a little strange to find out about this recall online, instead of American Honda sending out notice. I have always been notified of something like this. And I just could not believe that American Honda would not have informed me. But when I spoke to the American Honda Rep I was re-assured that if my vehicle was affected by this recall, I would be notified by mail.

I am very upset at the company that released this information because it has everyone in frenzy about nothing. I think it is unfair to do that to people, because here everyone is thinking they can be injured driving their vehicles that they have had no problems with thus far. I just think it is unfair of NHTSA to pre-release this information and have everyone in a Panic.

I just wanted to state that I love Honda and I so believe in Honda, and I think that it is very destructive to do a thing like this to such a major Company as Honda.

P.S. DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON TV or ON THE NEWS and DEFINITELY NOT THE NET. YOU SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WAR AND GAS PRICES.

A comment on Volvo Wins Safety Award

I encountered a potential safetly issue while driving behind the Volvo Station Wagon. When the sunlight is shining on the rear of the Volvo Station Wagon it is very difficult to notice the directional signal due to the light cover being white. The sunlight actually makes the directional difficult to see. I find that vehicles with red directionals are also very difficult to be aware of. In my opinion Break Lights should be red, Reverse lights should be white, and Directionals should be yellow. I think car manufactuers try to save money by combining the directional color with the break lights? I apologize if I sound like a nudge but if safety is #1 on the books why change the one thing that drivers rely on. If the stop lights indicate red as stop, yellow as slow then so should the vehicle indicators. Thank You
